NINA GEE
Nina's current work (seen at right) features an exploration of family fictions. This work was inspired by the surrealist photojournalism of Lee Miller during WWII and an ongoing re-archiving project of old family photographs spanning four generations. This portfolio entitled, "Anton Dreams" chronicles primarily the marriage of her grandmother (Bertha Dusek [Balzer]) and grandfather (Anton Dusek), his early death of a devastating brain tumor, and his life as a father, self-taught pilot, inventor, and photographer.

Nina Gee has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Rider University and a graduate degree in Oriental Medicine from Tristate College of Acupuncture in New York City. She began her career as a photographer while practicing Chinese Medicine in a private practice in Pennsylvania. She received a photography degree from the New York Institute of Photography, and has been working with mentor, photographer, teacher, and past art critic of the Village Voice, Ben Lifson (www.benlifson.com).

Nina has been a member of the Home Fine Art cooperative gallery since July of 2005. She is also a member of the Center for Photography at Woodstock. Nina is associated with the ArtRom Gallery in Rome, Italy where she has received 3 finalist awards for her photography since 2004.
